About kaya

Kaya (meaning home in isiZulu) is a reminder that we were never meant to do this alone.

We host regular gatherings, singing circles, movement practices, creative workshops, nature walks and more in the Serranìa de Ronda and Costa del Sol, bringing together people across ages, backgrounds, beliefs and callings.

The format changes, but what stays constant is this: alcohol and phone-free spaces where presence matters more than performance, where you don't need experience or expertise, just the willingness to be there. We intentionally support local businesses, artists, agricultors and facilitators, and care for the land and venues that hold us.

Come and join a growing community of heart-led individuals and families proving that regular gatherings, real relationships, and showing up for each other can truly shift how we live, learn and grow individually and collectively.

This is just the beginning, and we’re glad to have you join the journey…

Mission

We create simple, soulful gatherings that invite us home: to ourselves, to each other, to the earth, to our hearts. We bring together locals and newcomers, young and old, artists and entrepreneurs, creating a resilient community where you actually know your neighbours and have somewhere to go when you need real connection.

We promote alcohol and phone-free spaces where presence matters more than performance, so we can focus on practical community-building and conscious connection.

Vision

A world that knows how to come home.

Where communities gather regularly, and people show up as they really are. Where we look after the land around us and each other with the same care. Where you can sing and dance freely, cry openly, ask hard questions, and still belong completely.

We're here to remember that being human—messy, joyful, grieving, growing—is enough.

Values

  • We create spaces for genuine connection. With yourself, through embodiment practices, quiet reflection and creative expression. With others, through shared experiences and heartfelt conversation. With nature, by honouring the earth and all living things.

  • We believe in lifting each other up. We champion local artists and their craft. We support small businesses rooted in our community. We care for the land we inhabit. We cultivate peace and harmony in our shared spaces. When we tend to our collective well-being, everyone flourishes.

  • We honour the power of presence in all its forms, from the wild release of dance and song to the deep quiet of nature and contemplation. Kaya events are intentionally simple, deeply nourishing, and free from phones, cameras, and alcohol.
